Bonterra at Cross Creek Ranch is a gated, 55+ resort-style neighborhood tucked inside the larger master-planned Cross Creek Ranch community in Fulshear, Texas — about 30 miles west of downtown Houston. Built by Taylor Morrison (with a collection also offered by Darling Homes), development began in 2016 and is still adding new construction homes today, with a planned build-out of roughly 700 single-story homes. Final-opportunity homes remain in the 50' Summit Collection, and the 60' Pinnacle Collection is still actively selling, so buyers can choose between resale homes and new construction. The heart of the community is a private 10,000-square-foot clubhouse reserved exclusively for Bonterra residents. Inside you'll find a state-of-the-art fitness center, aerobics and dance/movement studio, arts and crafts studio, cards and billiards room, game room, grand ballroom and event space, a catering kitchen for hosting parties, and two amenities that are genuinely rare in 55+ communities: a dedicated massage/spa room and a continuing education center. Outdoors, the amenity grounds wrap around a lagoon-style resort pool with a patio and outdoor kitchen, a firepit for evening conversation, bocce and pickleball courts, an event lawn, scenic ponds, and multi-use walking and biking trails. A full-time on-site Lifestyle Director keeps the calendar packed with recurring favorites — Margarita Mondays, potluck parties, Mad Hatter Tea Parties, Hot Havana Nights, Hollywood-style soirees — plus field trips into Houston and Fort Bend County attractions. Homes are single-story and right-sized rather than downsized — same square footage as a family home, but the plan is reworked to trade extra bedrooms for bigger entertaining space, larger owner's suites, and generous outdoor living. About 95% of homes are one-story, the typical home runs around 2,000 sq ft with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a 2-car garage, and waterfront lots are available in some sections. Front-yard lawn maintenance and exterior upkeep are handled through the HOA, giving residents the low-maintenance lifestyle most buyers move here for. Beyond the Bonterra-only amenities, residents also get full access to the broader Cross Creek Ranch master plan — another large clubhouse and 6,500-sq-ft fitness center, the Adventure Island water park, Greenthread Park, Canine Commons (dog park), Arbor Park, tennis and basketball courts, a disc golf course, picnic areas, and more than 200 acres of parks and trails running along Flewellen Creek. Over 95% of the water used to irrigate the master-planned community is recycled through an on-site reclamation program. The Weston Lakes Country Club, with a Hale Irwin–designed 18-hole par-72 course, pro shop, clubhouse, and Waterside Grill restaurant, is just outside the neighborhood. Location is a major draw. Fulshear is one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., and Bonterra sits just off FM 1093 near Texas Heritage Parkway. Fulshear Town Square is about 2 miles away, Katy Mills Mall is under 8 miles, and I-10 is roughly 15 minutes north. Downtown Houston is about 30 miles east, and George Bush Intercontinental Airport is around 50 miles via I-10 and the Sam Houston Tollway. The surrounding area offers grocery, medical, dining, and cultural options (Fort Bend Theatre, Fort Bend County Museum, Brazos Bend State Park, George Observatory), plus easy access to Houston's Energy Corridor and the full menu of big-city entertainment when residents want it.
