The Highlands Encore Collection is the 55+ active adult enclave within The Highlands, a 2,300-acre master-planned community in Porter, Texas developed by Caldwell Communities. Recognized by the Greater Houston Builders Association as the 2024 Master Planned Community of the Year, The Highlands is a densely wooded, park-like setting featuring large recreational lakes, miles of trails, and a semi-private 18-hole golf course — all of which Encore residents enjoy full access to. Encore Collection is the first 55+ community from David Weekley Homes in the Greater Houston area, and it represents the builder's Encore line — lifestyle-driven, single-story homes designed specifically for active adult living. Homes are offered in two product lines: the 45' Collection (45-foot homesites, typically 1,588–2,154 sq ft, two to three bedrooms) and the 55' Collection (55-foot homesites with larger floor plans). All homes are single-story with open-concept layouts, high ceilings, brick or stone facades, covered patios, and flex rooms that can serve as a den or office. The 45' Collection starts from the high $300s; the 55' Collection pushes into the $500s, with an average sale price around $547,000. The entire Encore section is planned for approximately 125 homes, with construction ongoing through 2026.
