Skyestone is a 519-home 55+ active adult community in Broomfield, Colorado, built by Taylor Morrison between 2014 and December 2020 on roughly 170 acres nestled in the shadow of the Flatirons. Positioned between Denver (about 30 minutes south) and Boulder (about 20 minutes north), the community is known for its mountain-modern architecture, permanent open space to the west and south, and direct access to Broomfield and Westminster trail systems including the scenic Skyestone Loop with Walnut Creek, two ponds, and views of the Great Western Reservoir. Homes fall into three lines: the Landmark Collection (ranch-style plans roughly 1,584 to 2,247 sq ft with optional finished basements), the Pinnacle Collection (larger plans from 2,291 to 2,858 sq ft with three-car garages), and 85 Villas marketed as lock-and-leave homes where landscaping and snow removal are bundled into the HOA. Plans generally offer 2 to 4 bedrooms, 2 to 3 baths, and attached two- or three-car garages on 5,000 to 6,000 sq ft lots with Flatiron and mountain views. The heart of the community is The Lodge at 11057 North Montane Drive, a Colorado Modern clubhouse with six themed spaces (Savor, Taste, Indulge, Play, Rejuvenate, Refresh). Residents use a Movement Studio, Fitness Center with strength and cardio equipment, large catering/demonstration kitchen, meeting room, lending library, billiards table, tabletop shuffleboard, and covered patio. Outside the Lodge are an outdoor pool and hot tub, event lawn, grills, fire pit, and four pickleball courts. Dispersed throughout the neighborhood are a bocce ball court, horseshoe pit, cornhole, community gardens, a pocket park with a playground for visiting grandkids, and several covered seating areas. Lifestyle is a defining feature. A full-time Lifestyle Director programs weekly fitness classes, lifelong-learning sessions, and a rotating calendar of social events like Oktoberfest, St. Patrick's Day parties, potlucks, block parties, and the 'Live at the Lodge' local-band concert series. More than 30 resident-led clubs operate at the Lodge or offsite, with notable activity around hiking, e-biking, golf, three versions of bridge, gardening, book groups, and dinner clubs. Residents skew active and social — roughly half retired and half still working or working from home — with pride in the idea that 'this isn't a golf-club community,' but rather a tighter-knit neighborhood with lower dues and an outdoor-forward culture. A city-owned golf course sits across the street, and Walnut Creek Golf Preserve is about two miles east. Location advantages are strong: Flatiron Crossing Mall is about 4 miles north with Macy's, Nordstrom, Crate & Barrel, and Dick's Sporting Goods; US-36 (the Boulder-Denver Turnpike) is a few miles east; and the Flatiron/36 Station provides RTD bus service to both downtown Denver and Denver International Airport (about 36 miles / 45 minutes away). Skiing, mountain biking, and the foothills are within easy reach.
