Anthem Ranch is Colorado's premier age-restricted 55+ active adult community, nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountain foothills in Broomfield — perfectly positioned between Denver and Boulder. Originally conceived and launched by Del Webb in 2006, the community was acquired by Toll Brothers in 2013 and completed at buildout in 2018 with approximately 1,300 single-family ranch-style homes. All new construction has ended; the community is now an entirely resale market with active inventory. The heart of community life is the 32,000-square-foot Aspen Lodge, a resort-caliber clubhouse that opened in 2007. Inside, residents enjoy a grand ballroom, indoor lap pool, first-class fitness center with aerobics and dance studio, indoor walking track, movie theater, billiards hall, card rooms, library, arts and crafts studios, woodshop, sewing room, and massage therapy room. Outdoors, the amenity footprint is equally impressive: a resort-style pool with spa, tennis and pickleball courts, bocce ball, shuffleboard, barbecue pits, and an outdoor amphitheater. The community sits within a master plan that includes 735 acres of preserved open space, 22 parks, 11 ponds and fishing lakes, a 90-acre community park with picnic pavilion, basketball courts and softball fields, and 48 miles of scenic walking and biking trails that connect into Broomfield's regional trail system. The social scene is one of Anthem Ranch's biggest draws. The Anthem Ranch Community Association (ARCA) supports more than 90 resident-run clubs and interest groups, supported by a full-time activities director who organizes classes, day trips, neighborhood picnics, group ski trips, bus excursions to Denver sporting events and museums, outdoor concerts, and holiday parties. Clubs span everything from hiking, skiing, tennis, pickleball, and bocce to model railroading, scrapbooking, quilting, bridge, book clubs, Mah Jongg, dance, yoga, veterans groups, and a men's coffee group — there is genuinely something for every interest. Homes are all single-level ranch designs built by Del Webb (2006–2013) and Toll Brothers (2013–2018), ranging from roughly 1,200 to over 3,000 square feet. Most floor plans feature 2–4 bedrooms, 2–4 bathrooms, open-concept great rooms, gourmet kitchens, and attached 2- or 3-car garages, with stucco and brick exteriors in muted tones. Popular Toll Brothers models include the Montana, Breckenridge, Venable, Copper, and ElDora, many of which capture spectacular Longs Peak and Front Range foothill views. The community is gated, and HOA dues (roughly $300–$350/month) include lawn maintenance, snow removal, and access to all common grounds and the Aspen Lodge facility. Location is a major advantage. At roughly 5,180 feet elevation, Anthem Ranch sits just off Highway 7 about 20–25 minutes from both downtown Denver and Boulder, and 25–35 minutes from Denver International Airport. The Orchard Town Center (shopping, dining, theaters) is a short drive away, and Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette and UCHealth Broomfield Hospital are both within 15 minutes. For active adults who want big-mountain scenery, a world-class amenity package, a deep bench of clubs and activities, and easy access to two vibrant Colorado cities, Anthem Ranch remains one of the most sought-after 55+ addresses in the Front Range.
