Heather Glen is a 1,000-home natural-gas community built by D.R. Horton on the site of the former Heather Glen Golf Links in Little River, South Carolina — a 420-acre property rezoned and redeveloped starting in 2019. Though it's not deed-restricted 55+, the community has an active-lifestyle feel that's drawn a strong retiree and empty-nester following, including a full-time activities director who plans social events, clubs, and special-interest groups like fishing. The heart of the community is a 10,000-square-foot clubhouse built around the original golf course clubhouse, renovated with split-level access and a grand staircase at the main entrance. Inside you'll find a fitness center, yoga studio, demonstration kitchen, meeting rooms, and a library.
