Crestwood Village 7 — known officially as Whiting Village at Crestwood VII and affectionately called "The Village" by residents — is an established 55+ active adult community in the Whiting section of Manchester Township, Ocean County, New Jersey. Developed by the Kokes Organization between 1977 and 1985, the community consists of 1,048 free-standing single-family homes spread across approximately 235 acres of park-like surroundings with mature trees and quiet residential streets. Village 7 is the newest of the seven Crestwood Villages, a cluster of 55+ communities totaling roughly 5,500 homes and more than 8,000 residents. Unlike Crestwood Villages 1 through 4, which operate as cooperatives, Villages 5, 6, and 7 are fee-simple — meaning residents own their homes outright, which many buyers prefer for financing and resale flexibility. Each of the seven villages has its own independent HOA, and Village 7's monthly fee (around $175) covers lawn maintenance, snow removal, trash, clubhouse and common-area upkeep, and shuffleboard court maintenance. Outdoor amenities include bocce and shuffleboard courts and walking paths winding through the neighborhood. Active social clubs include the Artists Guild, Bingo, Bocce, Cards, the annual Crestwood Craft Show, Dance nights, Holiday Parties, the Residents' Club, and a Travel Club. Bus service runs to local shopping, dining, and churches — a real convenience for residents who no longer want to drive. The location is a major draw. Whiting sits in the Pine Barrens region of central New Jersey with easy access to Route 530, Route 70, and the Garden State Parkway.
