Trilogy at La Quinta is a guard-gated 55+ active adult community set on 536 acres at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains in the southeast corner of the Coachella Valley. Developed by Shea Homes between 2003 and 2011, the community comprises 1,238 single-story ranch-style homes spread across the Coral, Mariposa, and Santa Rosa collections, with floor plans ranging from roughly 1,360 to 2,800 square feet, two to four bedrooms, and two- to three-car garages. Many homes feature private casitas, golf course views, pools, and customized upgrades like sunrooms, wine cellars, and extended patios. The heart of community life is the 21,000-square-foot Santa Rosa Club, which houses a state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor walking/jogging track, aerobics and dance studio, indoor lap pool, outdoor resort pool, grand ballroom, billiards and table tennis room, computer lab, library, and the casual Café Solaz for coffee and light bites. The on-site Bistro 60 Restaurant & Bar (formerly Azul) overlooks the golf course and serves as the community's upscale dining venue. A second amenity center, the 4,000-square-foot Coral Mountain Club (Creative Arts Center), offers arts and crafts studios, a ceramics studio, a card and game room, a 25-seat movie theater, and a catering kitchen. Outdoor amenities include four lighted tennis courts, four pickleball courts, three bocce courts, a horseshoe pit, cabanas with BBQs, and walking paths. The full-service Coral Spa provides massage, facial, and wellness services on-site. Golf is a defining feature. The 18-hole, 7,200-yard championship course was designed by Gary Panks and hosted the PGA Tour LG Skins Game from 2003 through 2006, drawing legends like Tiger Woods, Fred Couples, Phil Mickelson, and Annika Sorenstam. After a period of closure beginning in September 2022 due to the prior owner's bankruptcy, residents voted overwhelmingly in 2024 to purchase the 229-acre course and adjoining restaurant for approximately $6.17 million, reopening the facility as a community-owned asset following course and clubhouse renovations. The course operates as pay-as-you-play with discounted resident rates. Lifestyle is the other half of the story. A full-time activities director oversees 100+ clubs, classes, and interest groups — from bocce and pickleball clubs (each launching with 120+ members) to astronomy, book club, comedy nights, photography, wine tasting, and travel groups. The on-site Center for Higher Learning functions like a residents' college, with accredited instructors and resident-led courses in languages, investing, culinary arts, and more. Events throughout the year include concerts, live entertainment, weekly happy hours, a golf cart parade, an annual welcome back party, and a community fireworks show. Location puts residents in a tranquil desert setting while keeping the whole Coachella Valley within reach. Old Town La Quinta's shops and restaurants are about 15 minutes away, the Empire Polo Club and festival grounds are under 10 minutes out, PGA West and Andalusia sit right next door, and Palm Springs International Airport is roughly 30–35 miles away. The community is managed by FirstService Residential (formerly Associa Desert Resort Management) and enforces 24-hour guard-gated security. Only one household member needs to be 55 or older; investor owners under 55 are permitted but must rent, with a 30-day minimum rental stay.
