Whispering Woods

Whispering Woods is a 178-home 55+ community in Middletown, Delaware, built exclusively by McKee Builders between 2017 and 2024. It's McKee's third active adult community in Middletown, following the successful Springmill and Spring Arbor developments — the latter named 'Best 55+ Community of the Year' by the Home Builders Association of Delaware. The community is now fully built out and sold out by the builder, with all transactions happening on the resale market. Homes come in three distinct styles: single-family homes, twin homes, and carriage homes, giving buyers flexibility across a wide range of budgets and floor plans. Single-family homes range from roughly 1,558 to 2,278 square feet with two or three bedrooms, two or two-and-a-half bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. All homes feature whole-house energy-efficient systems, innovative floor plans, and builder-backed warranties. Attached homes (twins and carriages) include exterior maintenance as part of the HOA, making this a true low-maintenance lifestyle community. The neighborhood has a quieter, more secluded feel than much of Middletown's newer construction, with peaceful walking paths winding through the development.
