Four Seasons at Hemet

Four Seasons at Hemet is a gated 55+ active adult community of 1,106 single-family homes tucked into the southern edge of California's Inland Empire, with the San Jacinto Mountains rising on one side and the fairways of the Hemet Golf Club threading between the neighborhoods on the other. Built by K. Hovnanian between 2003 and 2011, the community was designed around the idea of resort-style retirement at a price point far more accessible than the coastal Southern California markets an hour away. The heart of community life is The Lodge, a roughly 14,859-square-foot clubhouse that anchors a larger recreation complex and stays open daily. Inside, residents gather at the Bistro for breakfast, lunch, or dinner; stop by the beauty salon; catch films in the movie theater; and drift between the ballroom, library, card room, billiards parlor, arts and crafts studio, computer room, and conference rooms. A separate building houses the fitness center and an aerobics/dance studio, and there are covered patios and indoor-outdoor lounges with fireplaces for quieter afternoons. Outside, a resort-style pool and whirlpool spa sit alongside lighted tennis courts, pickleball, bocce ball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, a BBQ plaza, and an amphitheater used for community events. Woven directly through the community is the 18-hole championship Hemet Golf Club, designed by Schmidt-Curley and open to the public, with a driving range, putting green, pro shop, and on-site dining. A significant number of homes back directly to the fairways, and fairway or mountain views are common throughout. Twelve floor plans span roughly 1,444 to 2,800 square feet across 60 elevations, all single-story, ranging from the compact Legends Collection (1,444–1,556 sq ft) up to larger homes with casitas and three-car garages. Upgrades like granite counters and tile or hardwood flooring are common in resale inventory, and solar is present on many homes. Socially, Four Seasons runs at a high tempo. A full-time activities director coordinates more than two dozen clubs and interest groups — bingo, bunco, bridge, hand and foot, canasta, line dancing, yoga, aqua aerobics, scrabble, reading, theater, pickleball, and exercise clubs among them — plus holiday parties, car shows, golf cart parades, day trips, seminars, and classes. The community is guard-gated with 24/7 security, and the HOA handles common-area maintenance at a notably low monthly rate (~$60/month, billed as two roughly $357 installments per year) compared to similarly amenitized communities. Location is one of the community's quiet advantages. Four Seasons sits off Florida Avenue, Hemet's main commercial corridor, with grocery, shopping, and medical services within a few minutes. Riverside is about 45 minutes away; San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange County are each roughly 90 minutes; Palm Springs and the desert are a similar drive east. Diamond Valley Lake, Lake Perris, the San Bernardino National Forest, and multiple regional golf courses (Temecula Creek, Pechanga, Bear Creek) are all within easy day-trip range, and Ontario International Airport is reachable in about an hour.
