Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club

Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club is an 800-acre master-planned, gated golf and wellness community tucked into the red rock desert just 10 minutes northwest of downtown St. George, Utah. Though not deed-restricted, Entrada has long been marketed as a retirement and second-home destination — roughly half of owners are full-time residents, with the remainder splitting time between Entrada and homes elsewhere. Golf Aficionado famously dubbed it the "unretirement community" for its blend of active lifestyle and resort-quality amenities. The community was established in 1996 and now comprises approximately 1,100 completed homes across 19 distinct sub-neighborhoods, with a total planned build-out of 1,682 homesites. Neighborhoods include Anasazi Hills, Anasazi Ridge, Chaco Bench, Chaco West, Kachina Cliffs, Kachina Springs (East, North, South), Paiute Springs, Shinava Ridge, Toroweap, The Cliffs of Snow Canyon, Lava Cove, Lava Falls, Sand Point, The Escapes, The Vistas, The Reserve, La Casa, and the Inn at Entrada nightly-rental pool. Home styles range from patio/lock-and-leave residences starting around $500K–$700K to custom desert-contemporary estates north of $3M. Pueblo-inspired ranchers with Red Rock views dominate the older sections; newer areas like La Casa and The Vistas feature sleek contemporary designs. Approved builders vary by neighborhood — Henry Walker builds in The Escapes, Shakespeare Development in The Vistas, with other custom builders approved elsewhere. The centerpiece is the Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club golf course, originally designed by Johnny Miller and Fred Bliss, then completely reimagined in a 17-month, $8 million renovation by David McLay Kidd (of Bandon Dunes fame) that reopened in April 2022. The par-71, 7,065-yard layout is managed by Troon Privé and has been ranked Utah's #1 year-round course by Golf Digest. Holes 15, 16, and 17 famously flow through an ancient black lava field. A 22,000-square-foot clubhouse — named Clubhouse of the Year by Golf, Inc. — houses Sol Mesa fine dining upstairs and the newly renovated Cactus Rye bar downstairs, along with a golf shop, ballroom, and meeting spaces. The Wellness Center offers a 13,000-square-foot fitness facility with cardio equipment and daily classes, indoor lap pool, outdoor resort pool, hot tubs, a full-service spa, tennis courts, 12 pickleball courts (recently expanded from 8), sand volleyball, and outdoor basketball. A 16-station Toptracer driving range and a putting course round out the golf practice facilities. Club membership is required for every Entrada homeowner. The baseline Associate Membership (~$156/month) grants access to all non-golf amenities — fitness, pools, spa, tennis, pickleball, clubhouse, and private dining at The Grille — but not the golf course. A full equity golf membership is available separately. All members must meet an $800 annual food minimum at club dining venues. A full-time activities director organizes an extensive social calendar including duplicate bridge, dance classes, enrichment nights, golf tournaments, ladies' buffets, pickleball lessons and open play, holiday events, and themed community parties. Location is one of Entrada's defining strengths. The community borders Snow Canyon State Park, with a paved biking/walking trail running from the top of the park through town. Zion National Park is about an hour's drive; Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon North Rim, Lake Powell, and Las Vegas (two hours) are all day-trip accessible. The community sits near the Ivins border but carries a St. George address and is minutes from Red Cliffs Mall, Coyote Gulch Art Village, Black Desert Resort (host of the LPGA Tour), and Tuacahn Amphitheatre. More than 300 days of sunshine per year and elevation around 2,800 feet give Entrada mild winters and intense but dry summers.
