The Village at Oxford Greens is a Del Webb 55+ active adult community set on approximately 794 acres in Oxford, Connecticut, in western New Haven County. Developed by Pulte's Del Webb brand beginning in 2004, the community has grown into one of southern Connecticut's premier retirement destinations, wrapped around the championship 18-hole Golf Club at Oxford Greens — one of the state's newest and top-ranked public courses. The setting is quintessentially New England: rolling wooded terrain, stone walls, cul-de-sacs, and homes that overlook the fairways or back to mature forest. The community has been built out in distinct phases, each with its own mix of home styles. The original Village at Oxford Greens offers both attached (carriage-style) homes and detached ranch single-family homes in a mix of floor plans. Attached homes run roughly 1,510 to 2,148 square feet with two bedrooms, two to three-and-a-half baths, two-car garages, first-floor owner's suites, and optional second-floor loft spaces and unfinished basements. Detached single-family homes range roughly 1,587 to 2,630 square feet. Newer phases include The Links at Oxford Greens (a limited-edition collection of single-family homes ranging 1,676 to 2,301 square feet, launched in 2022) and Fairview at Oxford Greens, a newer phase of attached carriage homes with around 125 homes where new construction is still active. Popular floor plans across the community include the Abbeyville, Laurel, Adler, Florence, Chablis, and Franklin models. All homes feature first-floor primary suites, open layouts, granite countertops, stainless Energy-Star appliances, and two-car garages. Social life centers on the 14,000-square-foot Ridge Club, the community's exclusive amenity center (some sources cite 17,000 sq ft after expansion). Oxford itself is a small western New Haven County town with a rural-suburban feel, surrounded by state parks, trails, and small lakes. Southford Falls State Park (hiking, fishing, a historic covered bridge), the 10-mile Larkin Bridle Trail, Jackson Cove Beach, Lake Zoar, and Webb Mountain Park are all minutes away. Everyday shopping is handled at Oxford's Quarry Walk center (Market 32 / Price Chopper grocery, pharmacy, bank, restaurants) and the Shops at Southbury Green. Waterbury-Oxford Airport — a major Northeast corporate aviation hub — is just two miles from the community. I-84 and Route 8 provide quick access to New Haven and Waterbury (about 30 minutes), Hartford (under an hour), Connecticut's shoreline and casinos, Berkshire ski country, and New York City (under two hours by car or train). The environmental design of the development preserved roughly 190 acres of wetlands and features nine miles of private roadway winding through Connecticut forest.
