Del Webb at Cane Bay is a gated, golf cart-friendly 55+ active adult community spread across 360 acres in Summerville, South Carolina, about 25 miles northwest of historic Charleston. Built by Del Webb (Pulte Homes) between 2007 and 2017, the community was completed with just over 1,000 single-family detached homes and is now a fully built-out, resale-only neighborhood with mature landscaping, blooming azaleas, preserved wetlands, and man-made lagoons with fountains — many homes back up to water views. The community sits within the larger Cane Bay Plantation master-planned development. The heart of the community is The Resort, a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse and amenity center that anchors daily social and fitness life. Inside, residents find a state-of-the-art fitness center with cardio and weight equipment, a heated indoor lap pool, arts and crafts studios, a card room, a grand ballroom, and flexible hobby spaces. The one trade-off residents note: getting in and out of Cane Bay requires passing through Nexton, which can slow the drive during peak hours.
