Tuscan Village is the only 55+ active adult community in the Horseshoe Bay area — a gated, golf-cart-friendly village set on 68 acres within the prestigious Horseshoe Bay Resort community on the shores of Lake LBJ, about an hour west of Austin in the Texas Hill Country. Developed by Centurion American and marketed in partnership with Legend Communities, the community is planned for 304 residences and remains actively under construction, with new-construction homes still available directly from the developer. The architectural theme is distinctly Italian — think warm stucco exteriors, tile roofs, and narrow 'village' streets with names like Medici Cove, Amiata Drive, Bella Toscana, Rivalto Circle, and Manciano. Three product types are offered: lock-and-leave townhomes (typically 2 bed / 2 bath, ~1,900–2,100 sq ft), detached villas, and larger single-family Golf Estate homes (3-4 bedrooms, up to ~2,700 sq ft), giving buyers a wide range of price points and lifestyles under one Italian-inspired roofline. The lock-and-leave design is a major draw for snowbirds and second-home buyers who spend part of the year elsewhere — landscaping and exterior maintenance are handled by the community. Life at Tuscan Village revolves around the resort amenity package. The on-site amenity center includes an outdoor pool and patio, a fitness center with aerobics and dance studio, pickleball courts, walking and biking trails, community gardening plots, a pet park, and open parks and natural space. A full-time lifestyle/activities director programs the social calendar, with clubs and classes including arts & crafts, dance lessons, group exercise, pickleball, yoga, book club, bocce, and various card and dinner groups. The real differentiator is what sits *outside* the gate. Residents are a 5-minute golf cart ride from Summit Rock Golf Club — a Jack Nicklaus Signature course — and home buyers can access membership in The Club at Horseshoe Bay Resort, which unlocks three Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed championship courses (Slick Rock, Apple Rock, and Ram Rock, collectively called the 'Texas Triangle'), the Cap Rock Clubhouse fine-dining venue, Bayside Spa, multiple marinas on constant-level Lake LBJ, and a full slate of resort dining and events. Developer incentives of up to $205K toward Summit-level membership initiation have been offered on select homes. A new multi-level clubhouse at Summit Rock is under construction to further expand resort amenities. The location puts residents in the heart of Texas wine country. Over 50 wineries, breweries, and distilleries are within a short drive, and Fredericksburg, Marble Falls, Johnson City, Enchanted Rock State Park, and Hamilton Pool Nature Reserve are all easy day trips. Lake LBJ itself — one of the few constant-level lakes in the U.S. — offers year-round boating, fishing, and water skiing without the seasonal drawdowns typical of other Highland Lakes. Note: There is a separate, older Tuscan Village community in Lakeway, TX (built 1982–2007, ~204 homes, resale only).
