Lenox Place is a gated 55+ active adult condominium and townhome community in Gallatin, Tennessee, just 30 miles northeast of Nashville. Built by award-winning Goodall Homes between 2005 and 2016, the community is substantially complete with 250 attached, single-level residences arranged along quiet, well-maintained streets off the Highway 109 bypass. Every home is designed for one-level living — no steps, no-step entries, wider interior doorways, and an attached two-car garage — making this a community built for aging-in-place as much as active adult living. Original Goodall floor plans ranged from roughly 1,220 to 1,561 square feet, with five layouts offering two bedrooms and two bathrooms (occasionally three), vaulted ceilings, sun rooms, private courtyard entries, and covered rear patios. Many units back to wooded common areas or cul-de-sac settings, giving the community a surprisingly private, low-density feel for an attached-home neighborhood. The clubhouse sits near the center of the community and anchors daily life here. Inside there's a fully equipped fitness center with cardio and strength equipment, a multipurpose room for parties and meetings, and gathering spaces that residents use constantly. Outside, the amenity area includes an in-ground swimming pool with a large patio, walking and biking trails that wind through preserved natural space, bocce ball courts, horseshoe pits, gardening plots, and a picnic area. A resident-run social committee keeps the calendar full — regular bible study, coffee-and-treats mornings, game nights, poker nights, card games, and seasonal events. Residents describe the atmosphere as social but not overwhelming, with plenty of activity for those who want it and quiet corners for those who don't. Neighbors come from across the country — Illinois, Arizona, Michigan — most downsizing to be closer to grandchildren or simply tired of stairs and yard work. The monthly HOA fee (currently $260–$325 depending on unit type) is one of the more comprehensive in the Nashville area: it covers exterior structure and grounds maintenance, water and sewer, trash, pool and clubhouse upkeep, insurance on the structure, and the underground utility infrastructure. That makes Lenox Place genuinely lock-and-leave — a real draw for residents who travel or split time between homes. A one-time transfer fee applies at closing. Gallatin itself is one of Middle Tennessee's fastest-growing small cities and sits on the north shore of Old Hickory Lake. The community is minutes from the Gallatin Civic Center, Sumner County's parks system, Gallatin Marina, and the shops and restaurants along historic Main Street, including the restored Palace Theater. Sumner Regional Medical Center is nearby for healthcare, and a Publix grocery, along with the full retail corridor along Nashville Pike, is a short drive. Downtown Nashville, BNA airport, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Country Music Hall of Fame are all roughly 30 miles south. For retirees who want an established, low-maintenance home with real community energy but still want occasional access to a major city, Lenox Place is one of the most practical choices in the Nashville area.
