Jubilee at Los Lunas

Jubilee at Los Lunas is New Mexico's premier 55+ gated active adult community, tucked at the base of the El Cerro de Los Lunas Mountains about 20 miles south of Albuquerque. It sits within the larger Huning Ranch master-planned community and combines a relaxed small-town New Mexico feel with quick I-25 access to big-city shopping, dining, medical care, and the Albuquerque International Sunport. Development began in 2006-2007 under Jenamar Communities and continues today under Avalon, which is still building new homes at a steady pace. An exciting next chapter is in the works: the Village of Jubilee, a $40 million continuum-of-care project on nine acres adjacent to the community, is targeted to break ground in spring 2026. It will add independent-living casitas, assisted living, and long-term care, with current Jubilee homeowners getting first priority for spots — a meaningful 'age in place' option for residents who want to stay connected to their neighbors as their needs change. Location is a strong selling point. Los Lunas offers a lower cost of living than much of the Southwest, a mild high-desert climate with abundant sunshine, and a setting near the Rio Grande with striking mountain views in every direction. Restaurants, theaters, and shopping are within walking distance of the gate, and golf courses, casinos, and nature preserves are within a 10-minute drive. Albuquerque's cultural attractions, medical centers, and international airport are all an easy 20–25 minute trip up I-25.
