Hearthstone Villas is a luxury 55+ community in South Jordan, Utah, built by Leisure Villas — the Wasatch Front's largest developer of active adult communities. Located just east of Bangerter Highway near 9600 South, directly south of Salt Lake Community College's Jordan Campus, the community will eventually total 168 attached villa homes arranged in four-unit clusters across three development phases that began in 2021. What sets Hearthstone Villas apart is its deliberately low density — just over five homes per acre, compared to the eight to sixteen homes per acre typical of most Wasatch Front builders. That extra breathing room translates into generous yards, wider setbacks, and a quieter, more estate-like feel than competing 55+ communities in the Salt Lake Valley. Homes range from approximately 1,602 to 1,971 square feet with two to three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. Four floor plans are offered: the Grandview (the builder's largest and longest-running favorite at 1,971 sq ft with three bedrooms, two baths, optional bonus room, high ceilings, a covered front porch, and rear patio), the Windsor Court, the Bristol Court, and the newer Stratford. Every floor plan is single-story rambler-style and designed with ADA adaptability in mind — extra-wide doorways, no interior stairs (except on optional bonus rooms), and wheelchair-turning radiuses throughout. Optional sun rooms, private patios, and bonus rooms let buyers customize. The builder has also been installing EV-charging infrastructure in garages as an available option. The clubhouse is the social heart of the community. It includes a fitness center, multi-purpose meeting rooms, a performance/movie theater, and an outdoor patio, with a swimming pool and pickleball courts just outside. Horseshoe pits round out the on-site recreation. A full-time activities director organizes events, clubs, and special-interest groups — pickleball is the headline activity, but the director helps surface whatever residents want to build. The HOA handles exterior maintenance, lawn care, snow removal, and all common grounds, delivering the genuinely maintenance-free lifestyle Leisure Villas is known for. The South Jordan location is a real strength. Daily needs are covered within a short drive — Harmons Grocery, Sprouts Farmers Market, Costco, Walmart, and Home Depot are all nearby, with Walgreens and CVS for pharmacy. Healthcare is well-covered by Riverton Hospital, Jordan Valley Medical Center, CopperView Medical Center, and Merit Medical Systems. Bangerter Highway offers quick access to restaurants, movie theaters, and shopping, and downtown Salt Lake City is about a 25-minute drive. Salt Lake City International Airport is under 30 minutes away, making travel easy. Nearby attractions include the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, Salt Lake County Equestrian Center, and the Bingham Copper Mine, with Wasatch Mountain skiing and hiking a short drive east. Homes have been selling quickly across the phased rollout, and Leisure Villas has noted that buildable lots in South Jordan are becoming increasingly scarce.
