Adelwood is Del Webb's newest 55+ active adult community in Minnesota, tucked into the outer-ring Twin Cities suburb of Chaska. Built by Del Webb (a PulteGroup brand), the community launched in 2021 with an initial plan of 90 homes that has since expanded to roughly 200 single-family homes, and quick move-in homes are still being delivered as the community approaches build-out. Homes at Adelwood are contemporary, single-level designs sized for empty-nesters and active retirees. Floor plans range from about 1,222 to 2,330 square feet with one to three bedrooms across the Garden, Classic, and larger Ascend series. Popular plans include the Passport, Blue Rock, Trailblazer, Castlerock, and Ascend, several of which offer optional sunrooms, upstairs lofts, or flex rooms that can be configured as a third bedroom, den, guest room, home office, or hobby space. Kitchens come with quartz countertops, soft-close cabinetry, stainless appliances, and (on larger plans) gourmet upgrades like gas cooktops, wall ovens, and oversized islands. Primary suites are designed with accessibility in mind — comfort-height vanities, zero-entry walk-in showers with bench seats and grab rails on many plans, and walk-in closets that connect directly to the bath. Heated and insulated three-car garages, tankless water heaters, and finished basement options round out the typical home. Construction is backed by Del Webb's Build Quality Experience and a homebuilder's warranty. Social life centers on The Brickstone Club, an 8,100-square-foot clubhouse with Craftsman accents, a stone facade, and floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto a lush lawn and patio seating. Inside is a state-of-the-art fitness center with an on-demand studio for classes, a coffee station, crafts and game rooms, and multi-purpose gathering spaces for clubs and events. Outside, residents enjoy a resort-style heated outdoor pool with cabanas and loungers, a fire pit seating area, pickleball and bocce ball courts, and walking and biking trails that weave past ponds and greenspace through the neighborhood. A full-time community activity director keeps a packed calendar going year-round — men's coffee hour, Friday happy hours, music and dance lessons, card games, crafts, and special-interest clubs — which matters in Minnesota where the clubhouse becomes social headquarters through the long winter months. Golf carts are welcome on neighborhood streets, adding to the laid-back vibe. Monthly HOA dues run $300 and cover lawn maintenance, snow removal (a meaningful benefit in Minnesota), professional management, and upkeep of the clubhouse and common grounds, giving residents a genuinely low-maintenance lifestyle year-round. Minnesota doesn't use CDDs, so the HOA is the only community-level fee. Chaska itself is a charming Carver County seat of around 30,000 residents along a scenic bend of the Minnesota River, with a walkable historic downtown along Highway 41 lined with restaurants, shops, and the Chaska Curling Center. Daily needs are close at hand — Target, Cooper's Foods, Chaska Market, Walgreens, and CVS, with 23+ restaurants and several big-box stores within 3-4 miles — and healthcare is handled by Ridgeview Clinics and Two Twelve Medical Center nearby. Golfers have an embarrassment of riches with Hazeltine National Golf Club (a frequent major championship host) and the Arthur Hills-designed Chaska Town Course both minutes away. Nature lovers get the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Fireman's Park, Lions Park, and Minnesota River recreation. Downtown Minneapolis is a 30-minute drive, St. Paul about 40 minutes, and MSP International Airport roughly 25 minutes — close enough for easy travel and city days, far enough to feel suburban and calm.
