The clubhouse is the social center of the community, and it covers a lot of ground. Walk in and you'll find a gathering space with a small kitchen and sink, the kind of room where neighbors show up with a bottle of wine on a Saturday and end up staying two hours.
Game room, billiards, and golf simulator
The game room stays busy most days, and just past it is a billiards room. The indoor golf simulator (projector, screen, full setup) is one of the more distinctive amenities in the building. (The original glass doors were replaced with solid ones after a stray shot did some damage, which tells you how much it gets used.) Most rooms are first-come, first-served, but you can reserve spaces for parties or showers through the property management office.
Ballroom, library, and arts and crafts
The ballroom hosts holiday parties, movie nights, and community events, with a drop-down screen and an attached catering kitchen. Elsewhere in the clubhouse you'll find:
- A library with community Wi-Fi, a decent change of scenery if you want to bring your laptop
- A card room with a community board for buying, selling, and joining vacation or cruise groups
- An arts and crafts room with a kiln for pottery
- A multi-purpose room (the former sales office) with extra card tables
Fitness center and aerobics studio
Both the fitness room and the aerobics studio run on a regular schedule, aerobics, tai chi, and other group classes, but residents can use the studio for personal workouts between sessions.
Outdoor amenities: pool, sports courts, and trails
Zero-entry pool and hot tub
The pool is zero-entry, yes. There are also dedicated lap lanes and a heated hot tub for cooler months. On a November visit the pool was full, which is about as good a recommendation as you'll get.
Pickleball, tennis, bocce, and more
Heritage Hills has pickleball courts, tennis courts, bocce ball (with a popular morning group), basketball for when the grandkids come through, and shuffleboard. It's a solid lineup for a community this size.
Walking trails and the Lookout Point
Two walking trails run through Heritage Hills. The shorter one-mile loop circles a pond with a pier and includes outdoor workout stations along the way. The longer trail covers 5 to 6 miles through the community streets and is walkers only, no bikes.
The Lookout Point sits on one of Clermont's signature hills. Residents gather there in the evenings to watch the Disney fireworks in the distance, a perk that genuinely is hard to find at most Florida 55+ communities.
Homes and villas at Heritage Hills
The community mixes single-family homes with attached villas. Villas come as duplexes or quad-style buildings where four to six units share a roofline, a lower-maintenance option if yard work isn't on your to-do list.
