The marina, expected in 2026
The community's marina is under construction and scheduled to open in 2026. It's designed to be the town-center hub: restaurants, retail, waterfront dining, and entertainment, all reachable by bicycle and golf cart paths. The water access connects out to the ocean. Infrastructure work is already underway, with piping systems going in to handle stormwater and reduce flood risk.
Living near family without living with them
Sunbridge sits inside a broader master-planned area, so adult children can buy homes in adjacent neighborhoods while you stay in the 55+ section. Bicycle and golf cart paths connect the whole development, which makes regular visits easy without anyone giving up their own space.
Location: inland, and that proved useful
During Hurricane Milton, neither community flooded. All electrical infrastructure is underground, which cuts outage risk. Beyond the weather angle, the location gives you quick access to Orlando, the airport, and a new Publix nearby. Road improvements are planned to ease traffic as the area builds out, and new school facilities are close for when grandchildren visit.
The Nakosi area
The surrounding Nakosi district is brand new: fresh restaurants, shopping, and infrastructure going in around you. If you like the idea of watching a community take shape rather than moving into something already complete, this is worth factoring in.
Del Webb Twin Lakes: different feel, different floor plans
Twin Lakes is 20 to 30 minutes from Sunbridge. Previously known as Jones, the community was taken over by Del Webb to complete one of its phases. It has floor plans not available at other Del Webb locations, which gives buyers more variety. The atmosphere is noticeably different from Sunbridge, so if you're weighing both, a visit to each is worth the drive.
