When Susie and Kelly first started researching retirement communities two years ago, Central Florida wasn't exactly their first choice. Like most out-of-towners, Kelly assumed the area was "all hurricanes, alligators, and water snakes." They never expected they would find their perfect home in the 55+ community of Arlington Ridge.

I mean, there was nothing special about their communities." At Arlington Ridge, "there's a lot of the open land and countryside we're used to. But you still have all the shopping and all the services you need right here," says Kelly.

Susie is currently planning a remodel of her kitchen to give it a more "old-fashioned" farmhouse-in-the-country look. "What about the hurricanes?" Susie and Kelly wondered. "There are no hurricanes, and there's warm weather, but it's tolerable warm weather."

"I wouldn't change this for anything," smiles Kelly.
